Connecting to the Server Remotely

In cases where the machine hosting the MYOB data file and the Xact link service are not easily accessible it is possible to connect to the machine remotely through Remote Desktop (if it is setup).

To start remote desktop from your own machine simply go to the start menu >> Run and type mstsc then press enter.

You should be presented with the Remote Desktop login window

Replace My Server with the name of your server machine and press connect, when prompted to enter your login details simply enter your windows login name and password , if you have been granted the right to log on to the server you should be able to access its desktop.

From there you can bring the services window as described in the previous section and manage the service from there.
