Act! "Link" Field
Xact Link for Act! and QuickBooks Online works by linking an Act! contact with QuickBooks contact.
By linking the two records, user are able to update QuickBooks contact record from Act! amongst other functionality.
The linking process is done by storing QuickBooks contact unique ID in one of Act! contact record field;
Creating Link field
You can create a new custom field or use an existing field in Act! contact.
The link field must be:
- A field in Contact (table)
- of type Character or Memo
- default field length (e.g. 50 chars)
This field should be used exclusively by the link, do not use or modify the value of this field, that is, do not add this field to the contact layout.
By default the expected field name is "QBOLink", this can be customized by going into the Settings page (Act! - QuickBooks tab - settings icon)
